Healthline is a free telephone health advice and information service staffed by resigtered nurses. Callers can ring any time of the day or night and calls are free even if made from a mobile phone or call box.
If the caller requires urgent medical attention they will be guided to the nearest emergency department or the call transferred to the 111 service. Healthline nurses can also privide callers with general health information and also offer a Well Child service for parents and care-givers of children under five. This service is funded by the Ministry of Health.
